THE BEACH AT PALOLEM (GOA)

Goa is one of the most visited states in India. This is where the world comes to party, but things have changed with a new noise ordinance (silence at 11:00PM) which effectively pulls the plug on the all-night rave party scene. Still, last night there was meant to be a "Silent Rave". This is an event where people rent headphones and all listen simultaneously to the same beats. Retarded.

Palolem in South Goa is one of the less-hyped beach towns, so it's pretty mellow, especially compared to Anjuna and points north. It is very nice; the official website for Palolem claims that the "world's best beach" is located here.

"Retarded"

"Stupid Ravers"

What lovely comments! Did you actually bother to go to the party? Most people enjoy them thoroughly. We get people from all walks of life and of all ages, all having a great time.

We use headphones in order to comply with the law, and to show respect to the local people by eradicating the noise pollution which has in recent years adversely affected quality of life for people living up and down the coast of Goa. Quite why this is "Retarded" is a mystery to me.

Anyway, you're more than welcome to come and experience it for yourself. You never know, you might even like it, and would certainly be in a better position to pass comment whether it be positive or negative.

Regards,
Silent Noise.
